July: Month-end Pages

I know I’m late with round-style posts but better later than never. Trust me when I say, I never intended to let the entire month of July slip by without publishing more than one blog post. I really tried to prevent that. I sat down many times at my computer, only to be confronted by my dear old friend, writer’s block. In spite of not writing for a month, I was still working my ass off behind the scenes here. Adding new plugins, running Pinterest ads to increase traffic, plus more. Since I’ve completed my program, I now have more time to dedicate to growing my blog.

Here’s a recap of what happened last month!

Day 97698 of quarantine…

I’ve officially lost count of how many days we’ve been in quarantine. It has been quite an adjustment working from home but I’m managing. I can admit, I do miss getting dressed up in the morning but I’m also enjoying wearing less. Workout leggings have been on rotation! I’m most importantly grateful for my morning routine.

I’m working on a project that I’m unable to disclose at the moment but I’m really excited and will hopefully be able to share it with you.

Something exciting happened… I got around and stopped making excuses and started my personal development mentoring program. It’s been a beautiful journey thus far. I thoroughly enjoy talking to my mentees. They are all so bright, remind me of myself when I was their age. I’m flattered and grateful they trust me enough to ask me to be their mentor. I’m excited to see where God leads this. He placed it in my heart.

Another birthday with my love...

Nick turned 27 in July! We had plans to celebrate in Vegas but the trip got canceled because of Corona. It doesn’t look like sis is going anywhere anytime soon. Nonetheless, it was an amazing day! We woke up early, had breakfast at the park. We spent the rest of the day manifesting our dreams and aspirations. I’m so excited about the life we are building together!

My blog hit a new traffic milestone…

I tried something new. I created a few Pinterest ads for some of my latest posts which spiked my traffic. I signed up for Google Adsense and got approved. If you’re not familiar with Google Adsense, it is an advertising network run by Google that allows bloggers to monetize their website through ad placement. Your girl made $2.64 (Insert money emoji). This was the highlight of my month. I never thought I could be making money blogging. I’m grateful for this source of passive revenue that I’ve managed to build and I can’t wait to see what else I can achieve this year.

Every Picture tells a story…

I love photography for the stories it preserves when our memories fail. It gives me such joy to capture a moment in time. To pick up so much beauty and emotion in a rectangular frame. I cherish the messy, imperfect moments, the kind you wouldn’t frame and hang on your wall. I realized my camera roll full of pictures that I never posted. This past month, I’ve started taking Instagram more seriously. I’m posting more, I now have a beautiful visual diary documenting this journey, in addition to my writing on this blog. At times I scroll down my feed and relieve all of the amazing moments, sometimes funny, sometimes heartwarming, and sometimes painful.

This year, my goal is to get into portrait photography and become a digital creator. I would love to take pictures of bloggers. I love being behind the camera. I would really enjoy doing more with it from a professional standpoint.

Well, friends, that’s all the update for now. I will catch you at the next month-end pages. Please let me know in the comments if you enjoy this style of post. As always, thanks for reading my words. I appreciate you!

With Love,
