Facing life without you

A year and some months ago, Life was great. Nothing anyone could have said would have prepared me for this. No matter what I did, I couldn’t bring her back. I still have no words to describe my feelings.

Cassie was kind. so kind. She was breathtakingly beautiful, both inside and out. She was caring, loving, and the kind of friend/cousin most people only ever long for. She was beautiful for the way she thought. She was beautiful, for that sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful deep down to her soul.

I miss you in ways that I didn’t know existed. I miss everything about you. Life is not the same without you. Not having you here is so painful. But I’m so grateful for the memories we shared that I will cherish for the rest of my life. And when I think about all the conversations we had, the dreams and secrets shared, I’m inspired and encouraged to continue to press on, to find hope through the heartache, to live in a way that would make you proud.

It’s so easy to get caught up with our own lives, so cherish and be grateful for every second you get to spend with the people you love. Hold them a little tighter and longer. For in the blink of an eye, everything can change.
